We're not totally sure what sparked the punch, but it's safe to say someone wasn't happy.

Allegedly, the racer who threw the punch wasn't a racer at all. At least not in this particular race? I have no idea how track meets work because I'm a normal human being and I don't run unless I have to. Running for 'fun' sounds miserable and I'd rather skin my knees on pavement.

But according to the comment section of Twitter (super credible news source I know) the kid who gets hit allegedly pushed the puncher earlier in the race for standing in the way.

Who actually knows what the original confrontation was, or if words were exchanged. Either way this dude ends up on the ground.

Possibly the best part of this video is that nobody stops to check on our victim. Like literally no one. Apparently track is a very serious sport and these top tier athletes have zero time for shenanigans. That includes checking to see if this dude is okay.
